Hello Doctor, My Mother is suffering with heavy cough and we have consulted doctor and he told that my mother" Right Lung" has damaged, hence she is Coughing. He suggested below medicines. Even after taking medicines she is coughing daily (from last 10 years on wards she is suffering the same problem) Doctor please provide the solution if there any treatment (surgery) to recover the lung and to get rid of cough. Note: She is sugar patient and I have mention below sugar tablets. Cough Tablets: 1. Pirfenex (pirfenidone Tablets 200mg) 2. Cofstop -A (Ambroxol hydrochloride, Guaiphenesin, Terbutaline Sulphate and method syrup) 3. Deriphyllin retard 1504. Rabium -20 (Rabeprazole sodium tablets 20mg) Sugar tablets: 1. Levocet can be used in breast feeding
even though it excretes in breast milk there are no studies which show this effects the infant
ambeoxol shouldn't be used.

Administering Terbutaline for a long duration is certainly not advised. Try homoeopathy instead for better results and no s/e.

Yes you can take relent.
Alternate is syears ambroxol + bromhexine + terbutaline 5 ml tds.
It will not make to dry

Expectorants are of two types:
mucolytics: which thin out tenacious mucoid secretions in the airways
mucokinetics or “expectorants”: they help the clearance of mucus by making coughing easier
both should not be prescribed in dry cough as they are known to aggravate cough.
However, wet cough is due to the secretions in the airways and should never be suppressed. Mucokinetics are used in this case which makes coughing easier.

First get PFT test done to confirm brochial spasm.If spasm confirmed and then get post bronchodialator PFT . If reversiblity confirmed then take some inhaled medicine as adv. by resp. specialist. All expectorant are equalent to plenty of fluid intake.
