Hello, Thanks for the query. I have seen the query, it is too general. There's no mention of blood glucose levels (either fasting or PP) and HbA1c%, so it is difficult to understand the situation. please give correct information including his diet and exercise being done. Then I will be able to guide. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given, from those it is clear that current treatment is not adequate. There is a need to upgrade. Apart from drugs, it is necessary to look at dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, weight, height, lipid profile, bp readings, serum creatinine, urea and microalbuminuria.
In a well controlled diabetic patient fasting should be < 100 mg or closer to 100 mg, pp 150 to 170 mg & hba1c% < 7%. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
The doctor treating him should be able to arrange the Insulin pen for that particular insulin. Usually the company executive supplying the instrument will come and teach the patient how to use the device. So please contact the concerned doctor. Or through the chemist supplying the medicine, you can get in touch with the company person. Thanks.

Tight glycemic control comes at a risk of hypoglycemia. Regular and timely meals along wid insulin reduces d risk of hypoglycemia. You should monitor your sugar and visit your doctor regularly for fine adjustment of insulin doses.

I dont think it is due to diabetes. She should feel happy with family and surroundings.Try make such an atmosphere.Give her due importance which she desires.Involve her in discussion about family matters. She should not be kept in isolation,as regular interaction is must with elderly people.
