I think it is not the medicine , it is the age of your father and his ailment which is against the desired effect of erythropoietin. his blood forming cells are not responding to produce fresh blood cells. at this stage , probably intermittent blood transfusions is the solution.

Hi uric acid increase is due to a metabolic aberration in the body, where purine metabolism is affected due to lack of certain enzyme. This can not be permanently cured.
