Weight gain can be a side effect of these drugs. Since I am an allopathy doctor, I do not know about alternative medicine. Besides, if weight gain is a concern for u, talk to the treating psychiatrist. He will weigh the benefits and risks of taking/not taking these medicines and will give you the right advice.
Even if you r going to continue these drugs, you can do necessary dietary changes to avoid weight gain
Cut down all refined and added sugars Eat nuts and seeds, lentils and legumes...more

Dear lybrate-user,
Zosert, Arzu and Voxidep are NOT known to cause weight gain.
There could be some other reason like no anxiety of obsessions, made you eat more. Or it could be, no repetitive actions of compulsions, made you burn less calories.
However please do not stop these medicines. Please try diet and exercise regime to reduce weight. You have consult the doctor and if necessary check the thyroid profile.

You need to consult with your doctor. Initially, you will have some adverse reactions but over time it will settle and become easier to handle. Anxiety and depression oftentimes do go together. If you are against the use of medication, then you will have to work very hard with a counselor for a long time to...more

Trust the doctor who is treating her or change the doc if u can't. Also apart from treating the effect i.e. OCD, meet some therapist who can help finding the cause and work on it.

Dear Nurul,
OCD usually takes a longer duration of drugs ad also more dosage.
If it you put in efforts to expose yourself to the situations and tolerate your anxiety without giving into compulsive behaviour, you may be able to stop drugs in 2 years or so.
