Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. You have mentioned FBG & PP glucose levels. Fasting is quite high. PP is comparatively better. However, there are no other important details like weight, height, dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, serum creatinine, urea, lipid profile & BP readings. Unless all the details are given there is no way to give any suggestions. So if you want proper advice, please come back with all the details in a private conversation, where I c...more

There are some side effects of all anti diabetic drugs.
But you need them to control sugar levels as high blood sugar level is more dangerous.

Better consult an Endocronologist and get your tablets adjusted.
It is very important that on which time you take tablets...
And my suggestion is to take homoeopatic treatment.. It can reduce the use allopathic treatment as well as reduce the side effects of the diabetes.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. As your HbA1c% is 7.4 and both glucose levels seem to be fairly good, instead of adding one more molecule like Voglibose, you may look at your diet and exercise level. That should help in achieving better control. If you are looking for any additional treatment then please come in a private conversation with details like current fasting, PP glucose level, diet pattern, extent of daily exercise weight and height, then I will be able to give specific advice....more

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for your query.
The drugs mentioned Glimepiride and Voglibose are different in their action.

Glimepiride is a sulphonylurea compound, it stimulates insulin secretion by the beta cells of pancreas, t...more

lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
For a person with diabetes it is very important to keep the blood glucose in strict control, otherwise, the long term complications associated with diabetes affecting eyes (retina), kidneys, lower limbs, peripheral nerves and heart can occur more rapidly. Ideally fasting glucose should be < 100 mg, PP 160 to 70 mg & HbA1c% <7.
Missing a single dose of Voglibose does not cause any problem. Voglibose is to be taken either with meal or just after it. Sinc...more

Hi,
presently you are on triple drug therapy with optimal dose of each medicine.
As your sugar after food is 260 it seems that more tighter control of blood glucose levels is needed
the exact blood glucose for you may differ according to your age and associated comorbidities.
But before increasing your medicines it is necessary to know whether you are taking present medications in correct timings
voglibose has to be taken 15 to 20 minutes before food
along with medication...more
