lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query.
Madam you have mentioned quite a few drugs, which you want to take. Even though your glucose levels are too high, it is difficult to say whether you can all of these. The treatment for diabetes is not just taking a bunch of medicines which reduce glucose. Each medicine has a specific role and based on each patients needs the treating doctor decides how to begin the treatment. Plus it is also necessary to know patient's age, dietary habits, kidney functi...more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
The details given are unclear. Since there is no mention of actual fasting, PP glucose levels,& HbA1c% there is no way to give any suggestions. Because by saying " sugar level & HbA1c5 are in good control" I do not understand what is considered as normal. thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, 48 mg / 100 ml glucose is seriously low level. It can cause severe damage including unconsciousness. When glucose level starts going below 70 mg, it starts producing hypoglycemic symptos. One should not allow the level to go down like that. Please look at your total treatment and fasting, Pp levels and HbA1c5. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for youmen service of your website and attending doctors my wife who is 53 years only has been suffering from diabetes for the last 5 years. She has family history. Her mother was diabetic. My wife was taking istamet 50/500 before breakfast and glycomet 0.5 before dinner. Her ultrasound report indicate. Mild fatty infiltration of liver. Her latest blood report indicates fasting sugar 150 and post prandial 230 hbaic 8.30 and alkaline phosphate 96, sgpt 75 and sgot 64. Total cholesterol is 225. Her motions are clear. No gas. (her sugar levels in aug 19 report were pre fasting 123.9 post prandial 183 and hbaic 7.70) our family physician after examination has prescribed glycomet gp 0.5 before breakfast, tab volibo 0.3 mg after breakfast and tab istamet 50/500, tab cobadex czs, lipigo 10 mg and tab ulyses 300 mg after dinner. She is non alcoholic. Doctor has advised diet control and daily walking. He said higher level of sgpt and sgot are common in persons with diabetes. Following doctors advise her routine is :- morning a cup of lemon juice in warm water, green tea and methi water empty stomach. Kotambari juice once in two days. Morning walk for 30 minutes and deep breathing in morning sun light a cup of woman hairloss and tea break fast before 9 pm yoga for 1 hour 12.30 pm cucumber walnuts half fuji apple 2 pm lunch no rice two chapatti or lower roti 4 pm a cup of tea evening walk for 30 minutes 6 pm to 7 pm if hungry little poha or upma dinner by 8.30 pm one lower roti/chapatti, little lower rawa boiled. Boiled beans and carrot now we are using figaro olive oil. One week after new medicines we checked her glucose levels in glucometre at home and it was 150 pasting and 205 post prandial. We don’t know the level of variation in glucometer. Question is: is this going to help reduce sgpt and sgot levels. Since in your web site there are doctors of great experience having seen many such cases where their advise has improved the liver with regeneration of cells, we need expert advise.

Liver enzymes are only mildly raised. Blood sugar is not controlled acceptably. Follow advice of your treating physician.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
The dosage of various medicines for glucose control can be adjusted on the basis of patients needs, doctor's advise and also based on dietary intake. Usually Glimepiride is either given once a day or twice in some cases. Metformin can be given 3 times a day again depending upon the need. Voglibose is usually recommended with each meal, that is three times a day. As it is mainly for reducing post food glucose rise. Thanks.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
Since there are no details given about either the blood glucose levels, HbA1c% or lipid levels, it is impossible to give any opinion. Thanks.
