Hello, thanks for the query.
Both the products are same. The er refers to extended release, which means the drug is released slowly over 12 hours in the gut. That helps maintain a longer therapeutic level. It is beneficial more so if a person has any side effects like gastrointestinal disturbances if plain metformin is taken. Both are fine. Thanks.

I feel there is no further need to add any drugs. Her bmi is 27.55 kg/ m2, which shows she is overweight. Her ideal body weight should be 59 kgs. So all her food intake (calories) should be calculated considering that weight and extent of daily physical exercise and blood sugar levels. Even if she reduces 5 to 7 kgs,...more

Pooja ji, Thanks for the query.

Please let me know whether you take a properly planned restricted diet? Do you exercise regularly? With a BMI of 28.125 kgs/Sq meter(normal < 23 kgs/Sq meter), you are fairly over weight. Your ideal body weight should be about 60 kgs, which means there is an excess of 12 kgs. This needs to be reduced. It will help better insulin...more
