Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
First and foremost is please consult a qualified Diabetologist for proper treatment. A dietician can only help in your diet related issues. Your glucose levels seem to be well controlled. Please also check the HbA1c5, see that it is maintained < 6.8. Looking at your weight and height it is clear that with a BMI of 26.50 kgs/Sq meter,(Norma < 23 kgs) you are having an excess of 0ver 8 kgs. This needs to be corrected. So please give a closer look at your...more

Hello,
your bp is very high. Your bmi is also high. Since how many days are you taking these medicines? Wait for 1 week before considering change of medicines. You also need lifestyle modifications and weight reduction and few tests like ecg echo and serum creatinine, blood sugar and lipid profile.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Since your glucose is quite well controlled and HbA1c% is 5.9 %, I do not see the reason for changing the treatment. In fact if diet is controlled by reducing a bit of carb intake, you will be able to achieve still better control. Even increasing physical activity would be more beneficial than adding any further drug. Tanks.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user,
COPD is chronic disease of the airways of your lung. The medications are added as per your lung functions and symptoms. You can discuss the appropriateness of the medications with your doctor. I am not an expert on ayurvedic medicines. Hence, I can not talk on those medicines. Pranayam and walking is a very good thing that you are doing. Most important thing is if you smoke then quit it. That will be the best thing for your lungs. All the best.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. However, either with Glycomet Trio or with Glitaray M edema is unlikely side effect. Only when Pioglitazone is taken there is a possibility of swelling of lower limbs possible. So I am a bit surprised o know that such a side effect is seen in you. Please check your BP and kidney function, because the cause for swelling could be different. There is no mention of how blood glucose is controlled. That is equally important. Thank...more

Sorry to know that your mother is having diabetes and is not controlled by tablets that doctor is giving her and inspite of the fact that she takes a proper diet and exercises daily her blood sugar continues to be high.
In her case it would be fruitful to start insulin
In patients with extreme hyperglycemia, insulin should be started immediately to lower glucose levels. The patient may present with any of the following:
Fasting plasma glucose (FPG) levels >250 mg/dL;
