Vilazodone is a new drug recently introduced in india. It has additional mechanisms of action over prozac or fluoxetine. Antidepressant response can be unpredictable such that a person not responding to prozac may respond to vilazodone although vice versa is also possible. Prozac can cause temporary difficulty in erection and increase ejaculation time. Sexual side effects are reportedly less likely with vilazodone although it may be more sedating than prozac. What is the need for mood stabilizer, if the patient is maintaing well with single ssri?
Mood stabiliser is required if there is an inadequate response to adequate dose and duration of ssri.
If there is family history of bipolar disorder.
If there is ssri induced hypomanic episode.
If there is any evidence of bipolar depression better try lithium.

My approach would be to review the diagnosis and ascertain the incomplete improvement on above treatment. Just adding tablets may not be the ultimate solution.

Take adequate sleep. Sleep deprivation can cause dark circles.
Use some sunblock with spf (at least 50) every time you go out in sun.
