First, we need to be sure of diagnosis before commenting on medications. But, at the outset. Does'nt make sense giving antipsychotics and antidepressants considering the doses in which they have been prescribed.

Venlift is FDA pregnancy category C i.E. Use only if clearly needed and benefit outweighs potential risk. Even if it has to be stopped it cant be stopped abruptly. So consult ur psychiatrist regarding it. Trika has been assigned to pregnancy category D by the FDA. An increased risk of congenital malformations in humans has been suggested with use of trika. So definitely need to stop trika.

Dear lybrate-user,
adding another antidepressant is warranted in certain cases. There are guidelines for its addition. One can not load himself with antidepressants however chronic it is. Please consult your psychiatrist about it. Since he is following you up for many years, he may add venlafaxine or a mood stabiliser ot therapy for psychosocial issues keeping the depression for a long time. It depends on the diagnosis.

It's difficult to stop this medicine all of a sudden. Ideally it should be taken for atleast 6 months even if you are feeling alright and then stopped slowly.
Still if you want to stop on advice of the doctor there are 3 ways you can do so

2. Skip one day a week, take for 6 days, next week, skip for 2 days, take for 5 days and so on. It should be stopped in 7 weeks
3. Open the capsule and mix entire contents in 200 m...more
