Hello Chamith,

Veniz XR is an antidepressant and can be taken for long. Just be vigilant about its harmful effects. If you aren't a heart patient, you can safely take it. It has certain side effects on liver too like your liver functions may get deranged and jaundice might occur.
But this effect is uncommon.

Many a times for anxiety disorder, you need to take long term medications. So kindly consult your psychiatrist regularly and take them as advised. Newer desvenlafaxine has come, which controls anxiety better then plain venlafaxine. Discuss with your psychiatrist. All the best.

First, we need to be sure of diagnosis before commenting on medications. But, at the outset. Does'nt make sense giving antipsychotics and antidepressants considering the doses in which they have been prescribed.

Hi lybrate-user,
kindly take the medicine only if a doctor has prescribed it. In addition t that the point is that the medicine you take for depression only works on calming the symptoms. We call them nuerosuppresents. What they do is they basically calm you down until another dose is required. They never help you solve the underlying problem. The thing is that only therapy can do that. There are a lot of underlying thoughts or even trauma that needs to be resolved that will itself resolve t...more
