Veltam 0.4 Tablet MR Health Feed

Asked for male, 72 years old from Kochi

I am 72 years old male. I am undergoing dialysis for the last 20 months. Meanwhile I had bypass surgery 10 months before. along with other medicines I was prescribed VELTAM F tablets. Should I continue this tablet. I do not have any side effects and have moderate urination. Your advice please?

VELTAM F is used if you have prostate hypertrophy causing difficulty in urine flow. If you have this problem you need to use the medicine

Having uti burning after urination lightly pain and frequent urination every 60-90 min, drinking water minimum 3ltr per day, no sugar. Taken levofloxacin5 days and veltam 0.4 for 15 days still there is no change. Kindly help me please.

HbA1c% 8.3, is suggestive of improperly controlled diabetes. SInce you are already on Glycomet GP and Invokana (Canagliflozin 100 mg), one needs to give a closer look at your diet and exercisem plus height and weight. There is no info on height. My suggestion is to take relook at diet and exercise and plan weight reduction. Thanks.

Yes, u definitely can. It is taken as 2 tsp in a glass of water three times a day. Having said that, please ensure that the stone is moving on repeated scans, if not then u need an intervention even if there is no pain.

The psa tested on 19 dec ‘19 was 6.42 ng/ml and on 23 jan ‘20 it is on higher side of 11.17 ng/ml. In 2018 dre was carried out when psa level was 9.25 ng/ml by consulting urologist telling not to worry and advised veltam plus for 3 months. Kindly advise whether I have to undergo dre again or other course of treatment.

You need to be evaluated for your psa levels
get a serum psa3, serum testosterone, serum dht and a trus (trans rectal usg of prostate) done and send me the reports.
