Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.

This condition is known as hashimoto's thyroiditis. There is no direct treatment for the increased antibodies number. The infection could be acute (lasts less than 6 months) or chronic (lasts more than 6 months). Our immune system fights and acute infection should be cured within few months. In case of chronic infection, the medications are prescribed.

For hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs), a level less than 5 mIU is considered negative, while a level more than 12 mIU is considered protective. Any value between 5 and 12 mIU is indeterminate and should be repeated

Hello, Thanks for the query.
TSH 7.99 mU/L is higher than normal, but considered as subclinical hypothyroidism, no treatment is advocated at this level. Only if there are severe troublesome symptoms present then treatment may be initiated. Otherwise no need. Precautions are to avoid soy beans and soy containing products. Plus use iodinated salt. Check TSH after 6 moths. Thanks.

If your TSH starts increasing, then it is advisable to start the treatment. Meanwhile check it every 6 months to see if it is increasing. Also try to avoid any foods with artificial colours, flavours & preservatives, non veg, maida products. Try to keep your bowels clean by consuming lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Consume non iodised salt or better rock salt. It will help you.
