Epilepsy is a chronic disease, and it needs medicines for a long time. This would keep seizures under control. Shivering can be a side effect of medication too such as sodium valproate.

Hello, I can understand what is worrying you and your situation right now. First, i'd suggest that you don't need to use every second just for achieving something. Devote some time to yourself, pick out your hobbies, join some sport or music club. The purpose of life is to be content, happy and peaceful and not merely be an achiever. Secondly, what you describe sounds like bipolar depression. For this, optimize your dose of valproate, if that doesn't help much, there are medicines that can be us...more

You don't need to be so helpless. Sodium valproate is a good medication for epilepsy control, though it takes some tome to start action. The dose of sodium valproate may need supervised changes and may need add on medications at times for control of seizures. Consult a neurophysician for the same. Also a brain imaging like MRI scan might be useful to rule out possible causes of uncontrolled seizures at his age.

Here is a possibility that your seizure could be a part of your migraine. I would suggest you to manage the migraine well. Valproate can be considered as it can be a migraine prophylaxis as well as anti epileptic. But each individual is different we should try out to find what works best for you.

Valproate is an antiepileptic medication that is also used to treat migraines. However, it is not recommended for use in pregnant women because it has been associated with an increased risk of birth defects and developmental problems in children exposed to the drug in utero.
The use of valproate during pregnancy has been linked to an increased risk of neural tube defects, such as spina bifida, as well as cognitive and behavioral problems in children. It may also affect the development of the...more

The situation needs detailed discussion. Valproate can cause problems with development of the baby. But not always valproate will cause problems. On the other hand uncontrolled epilepsy is more dangerous for you and your baby. Majority of the valproate related problems can be diagnosed in ultrasound. But some problems can develop at relatively late age of the baby. Please start folic acid and discuss the issue in a meeting with neurologist, gynaecologist and your family being present.
