Hi, my penis gets erected during night while sleeping without any sexual thoughts or feelings. My penis will also get erect if I sleep in daytime. The erection will come down after awakening from sleep or passing urine. I get up 3 times for passing the urine. 6 months before, I had undergone abdominal scanning, it showed that my gall bladder is slightly distended (recently I was in medication for hydrocephalus. Tablets taken: valparin chrono, oxetol. Now these medicines have been stopped after hydrocephalus surgery.) please tell me what could be the problem.

My son is 15 years old - tall with 55 kgs weight. He has been diagnosed with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy about 9 months back. He is on valparin chrono 200 mg in the morning and evening. At night he is on lonazep 0.5 mg. He is very active and in sports and games too. He had 4 (less than one minute) seizures in the last nine months. How long must he continue the medication? Is the medication habit forming? Will epilepsy shorten the life of the patient?

You will have to continue the medication as long as he gets fits and his eeg is not normal. In this situation, you need not worry about habit-forming of the drugs.

I was taking desval er 750 for 11 months than doctor changed it to encorate chrono 300 twice daily from 06-13 to 06-17. Then dose was increased to 800 mg. During this period I have experienced weight gain, pcos, depression and hair loss. Now my hair are so thin and less that my scalp is showing. Can I reduce the dose of encorate chrono from 800 mg to 500 mg.

Encorate is known to cause weight gain and pcod. The dose can be adjusted or the medication can be changed in consultation with a neurologist. But this depends on the seizure control. Please feel free to contact for further evaluation.

Sir, my sister is suffering from epilepsy .when she was 1.5 years we came to know about it. When she was suffering from fever she had seizers. After 5 years doctor recommended eptoin and valparin. But still she got seizure 2/3 times in a year. Gradually it decreased. And from last six she have seizure for 2 times only.(no seizure in 3 yrs. So Dr. recommended to decrease the dose and after 3 months in 14 th june 19 she has a secure. After doing mri we got to know that one hole is bigger the another which was born in for which she is having epilepsy.in doctor's words -[absent-complete agenesis of corpus callosum .absent cingulate sulcus with the medial hemispheric sulci seen reaching the third ventricle in radial fashion. Mildly dilated riding third ventricles. Parallel configuration of the lateral ventricles with mild dilatation of occipital horns. Anterior interhemispheric oval cyst. She is now on medication (taking lamez 50 and valparin chrono 500. Can it be curable by surgery?

Hello, I am taking sertraline 150 mg, betacap tr 40 mg and valparin 300 mg for last 8 months for anxiety Migraine (light headache continuous, dizziness), fibromyalgia. I also took pregabalin 75 mg before which is stopped now. I am almost feeling 80% good. But I gained weight a lot. I was 65 kg, but after 8 months I am now 73 kg. Which medicine is affecting the side effect. What should I do now? Thanks.

I feel difficult in breathing while climbing upstairs, washing clothes etc (மூச்சு வாங்கும்). Tested blood. All parameters are ok. No sugar and bp. No smoking. Non alcoholic. Use snuff. Taking valproic acid as per doctor's advice. Taking modlip am. Taken spirometry test. Lung average is 111 and 53.5%. I am aged 68. Male. Used to suffer from allergic bronchitis at times. No asthma. Res sir/mam this is yash tondwalkar mother, he got operated in 2006 for his left eye squint by Dr. anand shroff, but now he has developed cataract in same eye he had conversion in 2007 no fome, but no fome only he stairs at one place and then goes to bed as headache starts, after waking up he does not remember anything of earlier what happened. My 2.9 year old son got seizure at 2.1 years. Its was twice between 4 hours of interval. After treatment we are giving him valparin two times 2.5 ml. Want to know, if this medicine can cause hyperactivity as he has this issue of hyperactivity. A known person mentioned that his hyperactivity could be due to this medicine, and we should seek second opinion. Can you suggest if removal of this medicine is considerable? I ll consult his doctor before taking any action, looking up suggestions on my concern.

Hello,
valparin (sodium valproate) is known to induce hyperactivity in some children. You should go to your doctor and inform him about same and I am sure he will change the medicine. Do not try anything on your own.
