In case of epilepsy since you are on meds for 3 years, if the seizures are completely controlled and eeg is normal, a trial of gradual taper of medicines can be given. But always taper medicines after consulting your neurologist. And there is always a chance of recurrence so that risk has to be borne in mind.

Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy is a type of primary generalised epilepsy. It wil get good response with encorate. But there is chance to recur once you stop it. Usually encorate is the drug of choice.
