Oral corticosteroids and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are equally effective in the treatment of acute gout. Febuxostat (Uloric) and allopurinol (Zyloprim) are equally effective in preventing recurrent gout.

Advice:
1. Avoid pulses which are supposed to increase nitrogen based bi-products inside the body
2. Febuxostat (brand and dosage matters a lot)
if you find my advice helpful and you need further interpretations then you are welcome to consult me privately.
Till then take care and all the best.

A high uric acid level is considered a risk factor for developing diabetes. In addition, you have blood sugar levels in the pre-diabetic range. Continue glyciphage (metformin). You might need to add febuxostat. Get your diabetologist's advice. By the way, how is your kidney function?
