So the final diagnosis is pre b cell all with ph positive.
I believe autologous transplant was done since you had a very good response to chemo and mrd was negative.
So I think prognosis appears good.
Please continue imatinib.

Dear lybrate-user
I can understand that disease of your husband is becoming resistant to various TKIs (Imatinib and Nilotinib), it will be useful if you can provide type of resistant he had towards these medicines. Once we know type of resistance we can either switch to other medicine like Dasatinib or can suggest you stem cell transplant.
In case of resistant disease allogenic transplant is choice of treatment. Donor could be sibling (need HLA typing and matching) or unrelated donor.

Bcr-Abl tyrosine-kinase inhibitors (TKI) are the first-line therapy for most patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). More than 90% of CML cases are caused by a chromosomal abnormality that results in the formation of a so-called Philadelphia chromosome.
UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF PHYSICIANS, Drugs known as tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) that target BCR-ABL are the standard treatment for CML. These include: Imatinib (Gleevec) Dasatinib.

CML refers to Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. This type of cancer originates in the bone marrow. It occurs when a genetic change takes place in immature myeloid cells. These cells are responsible for the production of platelets, red blood cells and many types of white blood cells. As a result of these changes an abnormal gene known as BCR-ABL is formed. In turn, this gene converts the myeloid cells into CML cells.

The term bone marrow transplant is actually a misnomer in the present context as transplant is now conducted by harvesting stem cells from the blood of the donor. So the correct and logical term now is peripheral blood stem cell transplant. This is just like a blood donation for the donor and poses no risk at all to the donor. The term blood cancer is generally used for leukemias, these can be of two types - acute and chronic. For the chronic leukemias, specially chronic myeloid leukemia, stem c...more

We have natural therapies since thousands of years. Cancer is also there since that many years. Why has the cancer survival increased only in last few decades since chemotherapy and radiation have come up to support surgery. Targeted therapy like imatinib has been a boon for AML Leukaemia patients. Immunotherapy has found benefits after trying for decades. I agree that the science is far from perfect but itâs not a gimmick. If scientists earn millions then billions have been invested for the r...more
