Its unfortunate that your sister is suffering with blood cancer. As per history she might having cml, and receiving imatinib for treatment. Imatinib is known to cause musculoskeletal pain. Some time simple analgesic is helpful in getting relief of pain but many a times is due to more complex process that involve calcium and phosphate handling of body.

There are different types of blood cancer. Treatment is different for different cancers. As you have mentioned he was started on imatinib tablets he might be having CML (chronic myeloid leukemia). It may take a month or two to become blood counts normal. He needs to repeat bone marrow examination after 3 Months of starting tables to assess response.

he is responding well but IMATINIB need to continue for the whole life. even if BCR ABL Comes to zero. There is another tablet Spricel but its costly and advised to those who are not responding to Imatinib.
