A blood culture has to be taken to identify the pathogen, as fever is not subsiding. Does he have any diarrhoea or vomiting or other stomach ailments? I would suggest you to take him to a pediatrician and let them take a culture right away. In the mean time he can be started on emperical antibiotics.

I do not prescribe antibiotics unless absolutely necessary.
CRP is very non specific and is evidence of infection or inflammation.
But one should interpret CRP only against clinical background.
