you should go for the cause of cough, first. It might be due to cold, tonsillitis & laryngitis. You should drink lukewarm water.

If not much necessary. Usage of asthakind should be avoided till the age of 2 yrs.
U can give him Antium Tart 3X 2 drops in a tsf of water 3 times a day. Its a homeopathic remedy and very effective and safe too.

2. Take bath with little warm water 3. Do steam inhalation regularly at least once a day
4. Warm salt water gargles daily 5 no cold water / cold drinks / ice creams and so on
6. No smoking/ avoid pollution 7. Wash hands after use of bath room and before and after eating food.
