Finasteride can cause impotence in 1-2% people taking it. And it's reversible on stopping the medicine. It doesn't reduce your chances of becoming a father. Though you should ideally stop it when you r planning for a child and re-start it ones wife is pregnant.
Now if you r so tensed about side effects there are topical forms available now which doesn't have risk of impotency. Please consult for better discussion on available treatments and guidance.

Dear lybrate user avoid shampoos and perfumed hair oils, use shika powder instead, eat more vegetables and whole fruits, drink plenty of water, since hair fall depends on many internal factors it needs an internal medicinal treatment for cure
Homoeopathic constitutional treatment provides permanent cure from such tendency permanently by removing the root cause itself, medicines will be in nano dose and don't have any side effects or life long dependancy

Finasteride is not candy that can be taken just like that. First, you need a prescription. Second, it may not be necessary in your case. Consult online first, get your balding evaluated and then take any treatment.

Hello-
finpecia (finasteride) a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, widely used in the medical management of male pattern hair loss, has been reported to cause sexual side effects. It is why you libido was lost. Testosterone replacement makes the condition worse in these cases and may cause testicular shrinkage. Its best to stop using both and start herbal supplementation of ayurveda, firstly to make your reproductive system normal, and secondly to improve your hair fall pattern.
