Nausea is a known side effect of tramadol. Normally it should wear off within a day of stopping the medicine. If persisting you can take some antiemetic for a day or two.

Tramadol is an opiate pain killer so can be addictive, these symptoms can persist for few days and will gradually fade. Start him on tab astymin forte once a day for 15 days then review.
