Both medications are similar in their mechanism of action and are used to control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. However, the difference lies in the active ingredients used. Trajenta duo contains linagliptin, while ajaduo contains alogliptin. In addition, the dosage of the active ingredients is also different.

Mr Sooraj Kumar,, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the query, there is absolutely no information on glucose levels (fasting & PP) plus HbA1c%. Plus I also need to know dietary pattern, extent of daily exercise, lipid profile (recent or earlier), serum creatinine and urea values, plus BP readings. On going through all those details only I will be able to give some opinion. Even in the present information
I not able to understand what is the meaning of " half mg of gliptin" as there...more

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details. Please tell me why are you taking Vildagliptin as well as Linagliptin both? These are similar acting drugs. Only one is enough like Vildagliptin, which can be taken 50 mg twice a day. Or Linagliptin 5 mg twice a day. All gliptins as well as metformin can be taken just after food.
Please stick to one gliptin only. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. At 38 years your hba1c% should ideally be < 6.5% & fbg <100 mg & pp <150 mg. If these values are attained then you will be able to remain free from or prevent the long term complications associated with diabetes. Therefore, with present hba1c% of 7.4% it is clear that there is a need to look at your overall treatment which includes drugs, diet & extent of daily exercise plus maintaining near normal body weight. Hello, Thanks for the query As you are on certain drugs your body gets adapted to those compounds. Therefore, some times the change in compound between similar drugs may nt give desired results. Trigenta is Linagliptin and Januvita is Sitagliptin, even though both have similar action, dosage is different. So there is a possibilty of different response. Results may improve over a period. You might ask your physician about it. There are still better options for stricter control like GLP! analogues...more
