Mr. lybrate-user, Tab Galvusmet (50/500) is definitely a good combination medicine. However, if adequate control is not achieved then there is most likely a need for some add on treatment. Since there is no mention about blood glucose levels, exercise, diet etc, there in no way to give any suggestion or give any comment. Plus in this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines, no prescriptions. If you come in a private conversation with all above details I will definitely be a...more

As per your reports you are a poorly controlled diabetic and hypothyroid patient. You need to be on strict diabetic diet, reduce your weight by regular exercise to around 75 kg that is your ideal weight accoding to your height and visit your physician for addition of diabetes medication and change in dose of thyronorm.

It is better to increase dose of insulin at night by two units, so that your fasting blood sugar become acceptable.
You already had attacks of hypoglycemia and adding Trajenta may increase the chances of it. Why to expose your self to hypoglycemia and other side effects of another medicine when you can control blood sugar easily and more scientifically with insulin by titrating its dose.
Please keep your blood sugar targets a little higher to avoid hypoglycemia.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Your blood glucose looks to be in fair control. Ideally HbA1c % should be <7. & creatinine also should be around 1.4 mg. So please look at your diet and may be the daily exercise, that can help in achieving the desired levels. As regards TSH which is again high. If there are any symptoms related to hypothyroidism, there is a need for slight (12.5 mcg) increase in thyroxine dosage. Thanks.

Hello...

It seems your father is not getting an adequate dialysis as he should possibly because of low bp due to which it has to be stopped earlier. The solution is either to increase the frequency of dialysis to 3/week or consider peritoneal dialysis.
