Topocan 2.5mg Injection is called an anti-cancer drug. It is used for chemotherapeutic purposes. It is also known as a cytotoxic drug. This drug is a potent medicine for the treatment of ovarian cancer, breast cancer, endometrial cancer or advanced cervical cancer. The drug has also been proven beneficial in certain kinds of lung cancer. Topocan 2.5mg Injection may be administered to the patient orally in the form of capsules, or in case of difficulty in oral intake, it can be injected intravenously. The drug is from a class of medicines known as antineoplastic, that work by inhibiting the growth and spread of cancer cells.
Topocan 2.5mg Injection cannot be administered to patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients of the drug, are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Patients who have a history of serious renal disorders, adverse bone marrow issues, low count of blood platelets or decreased white blood cells should also not be given the dosage of this medicine to avoid fatal health complications. The medicine reduces the clotting ability of the blood, thus the patients become prone to easy bruising or bleeding. The medicine should be administered with extreme caution to the children and elderly patients to avoid serious side effects.
