About TOLVAMAC 30MG TABLET

TOLVAMAC 30MG TABLET falls under a category of drugs known as vasopressin v2-receptor. It is used in the treatment of low blood sodium levels. It functions by increasing the excretion of fluid from the body. This in turn normalizes the sodium levels.

On using TOLVAMAC 30MG TABLET you may experience side effects such as reduced appetite, constipation, drying of the mouth, fatigue, constipation, vomiting, dehydration, abdominal cramps, nausea, sweating, difficulty in breathing, weight loss, increased urge to urinate and feelings of thirst. Should the reactions continue and become severe over time, seek the help of your doctor immediately.

Before using this medication tell your doctor if you have any allergies, you are allergic to any foods, medicines and substances. If you are already taking any medications, if you are pregnant or are breastfeeding a baby, if you have a medical history of diabetes/ liver disease, alcohol abuse.

Ideally the dosage is prescribed by the doctor taking into consideration the overall health of the patient and the current condition. The usual dose in adults is about 15 mg orally to be taken once a day.

    This medication acts as a competitive arginine vasopressin receptor 2 antagonist that works selectively. Vasopressin receptor reacts on the V2 receptor that is found within the walls of the vasculature and the luminal membranes.
