Tobramycin is an antibiotic. It is used to reduce inflammation or swelling in the eye.
Yes ,tobramycin side effect is increased intraocular pressure.

It indicates conjunctivitis or infection of eyelid. Try out nebracin eye ointment twice and tobramycin eye drops 4 times for a week and get back.

Health Query

Red, dry, scaly patch on the outside corner of the eye since 2 months. Before that, discharge and red eye. Discharge was more in the morning. Took tobramycin (did not help) and then fluorometholone acetate which reduced discharge.?

Keep his eyes and hands clean
Keep using eyedrop as prescribed

There is no specific diet to boost immunity for eyes...Having said that,keep him away form dust and heat...Keep doing cold compresses of eyes

My 6 weeks new born baby girl is having watery and sticky eyes and the problem is reoccurring approx every 15 days. We gave her moxicip eye drops for the first two times and it went away. Third time when it reoccurred, doctor asked us to change to Tobacin. Kindly advise if this is something to worry?

Learn from your eye doctor the massage of the eye drainage apparatus besides using drops. The passage to drain tears is yet not open but is likely to open up in few weeks to months. Once it opens up, the problem will stop.

Hello Doctor, I am suffering from bacterial conjunctivitis infection. After consulting with two doctors, I have used the following eye drops: 1. Tear drops, 2. Milflodex, 3. Tobacin, 4. Eyemist Forte and 5. Zymaxid But then there is no improvement even after 16 days. Symptoms are discharge of water, wax from eyes, severe itching and pinching, redness of eye. Please advice me how the cure as I have been suffering incessantly since more than 16 days.

Stop all other eyedrop
Having said that it is provisional diagnosis
