The most common is hypothyroidism, when the thyroid doesn't make enough thyroid hormone. Without this hormone, your metabolism slows and you may gain weight, feel sluggish and tired, and get depressed. Your periods may become irregular and you may have dry skin and nails. Let's have a detailed discussion to ensure proper treatment.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Hypothyroidism is a hormone (Thyroxine produce by thyroid), this hormone is required every day for multiple metabbolic functions and normal functioning of brain. So there is a need to give daily supplement in adequate dosage.
Ideally TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L.
Your present TSH level is too low. So reduce the dosage to 25 mcg and then check TSH again after 6 weeks. Please remember it is a lifelong treatment. Thanks.

The condition you are having hypothyroidism, where the hormone thyroxine (t4) is not properly produced by thyroid gland. Hence it has to be taken from outside and that too for patient's lifetime. The levels of t3, t4 & tsh are normal because of the treatment. So you can not stop it. Secondly the tablet has to be taken early morning and for two hours nothing should be taken after that. That is the requirement. If you do not follow that the benefits of treatment may not occur.
