Himaniji, TSH levels increase if the dose of thyroxine given is inadequate. Your starting treatment itself should have been higher. Since the dose was reduced from 50 mcg to 37.5 mcg, which was definitely inadequate, causing the rise in TSH levels. Inspite of taking medication regularly TSH level will not come down on the contrary it will go up, as has happened in your case. On treatment for achieving control TSH level should come between 3 to 4 mU/L. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
When one is on treatment with adequate dose of Levothyroxine, TSH is usually maintained between 3 to 4 mU/L. At that level, most of the symptoms are in check. Usually after starting treatment initially TSH should be checked after 6 o 8 weeks to see if the desired level is reached. Then accordingly dosage of thyroxine should be adjusted in the range of 12.5 to 25 mcg per day. Drastic change in dose is not advisable. If TSH goes below 0.1 mU/L there may ...more

Your question is not clear, still if you want to know that your pregnancy is the cause behind your hypothyroidism, its not the case
but the vise versa can happen that is your hypothyroidism was one of the reason behind miscarriage,
you should try to have normal thyroid levels before conceiving.

You need to continue thyroxin and keep monitoring tsh. For diabetes start lifestyle management, diet control (avoid fried, sweets, bakery, juices) and start exercise. If still uncontrolled then consult again.

Hello, thanks for the query.
The thyroxine supplement given is actually levothyroxine. That is the synthetic hormone. All the brands contain the same compound. Thanks.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Post delivery your TSh showing that it has returned to normal. That means there is no hypothyroidism now. Hence, no treatment is needed. However, if you are again pregnant later, then it may reappear, then treatment will be needed to control TSH. Thanks.

lybrate-user ji, Thanks for the query.
When one is on treatment for hypothyroidism, with adequate dosage of Thyroxine TSH is usually maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L. At that level all the symptoms are complete check.
Therefore, TSH 6.5 mU/L is high. It can cause reappearance of all the symptoms. Treatment has to be for life time. Thanks.
