Do the correct basic tests for thyroid function which is six in number. If you have done only the total T4 ,total T3 and TSH the 3 tests commonly done your tests are incomplete. You are missing the autoimmune cause which should never be left out.

To treat hypothyroidism only available drug is Levothyroxine tablets. Hence, if you have that condition, then it may be necessary to take Thyroxine tablets. Ideally when one is on treatment with adequate dosage of Levothyroxine, TSH is maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L, at which almost all the symptoms are in check.
When TSH goes <0.1 mU/L, the dosage of thyroxine needs to be properly adjusted (reduced, usually by 12.5 to 25 mcg per day). Then TSh needs to be checked after 6 weeks to see if necessary level is maintained. Thanks.

If on treatment then TSH should be maintained between 3 to 4 mU/L to be free fro all the symptoms of hypothyroidism.Since your TSH is 13 mU/L, it shows that hypothyroidism is not controlled at all. This means thyroxine dosage has to increase from the present one. Then after tstarting the increased dose, TSH should be checked after 6 weeks to see if there is necessary change. Thanks
