Every vitamin is useful in every patient with deficiencies.
Psychiatry patients may not eating healthy for various reasons causing deficiencies. So it is an useful add on to psychiatric treatment.
Folic acid is prescribed usually in women who are on antipsychotic tablets planning pregnancy.

Folate should ideally be started from 3 months before conception. Doses may vary according to your previous history of pregnancy. And iron tablet are taken from 2nd trimester onwards if your hemoglobin level are within normal range.

You both should see doctor to know whether you need any tests. It's better to check for thalassaemia, rubella and blood group. Take folic acid. You should have regular and frequent intercourse.

You can use medicine cum vitamin supplement containing pyridoxal-5-phosphate, mecobalamin and l-methylfolate (trade name tetrafol plus) is very helpful in my patients. It has shown improvement in 50-60% patients of mine with ED. You may get this medicine over the counter as it is vitamin product.
