Most studies have shown effectiveness for 10 years in majority of people. Hence Tetanus vaccine is recommended once every 10 years, as long as one has received the primary doses of 4 vaccines in childhood.
A severe injury or large wound would warrant earlier vaccination along with use of Tetanus Immunoglobulin.
Minor injuries need not be occasions to repeat the Tetanus Injection. Definitely not 4 times in 6 months.

Even you can give pain less Dtap vaccine. It is less pain no fever.

If you have previously taken full dose of tetanus vaccine schedule 3/4 doses depending on type and site. And last dose is booster dose then small clean cut doesn't need a booster.
But nevertheless if you have any doubt or want abooster anyway, go for booster as after 4 weeks another booster won't do too much harm. Only minor fever and myalgia.
