My age is 24. I am suffering from oral submucous fibrosis. I chewed tobacco for 6 to 7 years but not consistently. My mouth opening is good. I consulted both ENT specialist and Dentist. They told me I've moderate oral submucous fibrosis. Dentist told me to take sm fibro and tess ointment whenever the problem occurs. I'm planning to quit tobacco forever but please tell me 1) what are the chances of getting oral cancer from osmf 2) after I quit how much risk I've to get cancer with moderate osmf. 3) even if their is no cure how long it will take my mouth to recover 4) how long should I take this medication. 5) according to your experience tell me percentage of how many people with osmf progress to cancer and how many years I have left? Please tell me I'm really worried.

Hi lybrate-user.
Great that you r committed towards quitting tobacco.
All the best in your endeavour.
Chances of getting cancer are 7 to 13 per 100 cases of OSMF. Since its a pre malignant condition the risk still stays even if you quit.
Usually moderate OSMF is irreversible.
However since you r having good mouth opening hopefully U may not have further progression once you quit.
You can try intralesional steroids.
See your ENT doc.

I have been married for 9 months ، then 3 months ago I had severe itching in the vagina and noticed the presence of many white pills and secretions, so I went to a gynecologist and prescribed a medicine for me miconazole nitrate 400 (vaginal suppositories), vocort cream (contains diflucortolone valerate and isoconazole nitrate as active ingredients.) and fluconazole 150 mg capsule and I repeated vaginal suppositories twice, I mean six suppositories and I have never improved. I went to another doctor and asked me to perform an analysis to confirm the presence of fungi or bacteria and he prescribed the same medicine that the first doctor prescribed except the cream. I replaced it with a cream called ecorex (contains 10 mg econazole nitrate and 1 mg triamcinolone acetonide), and I adhered to the drug until the result of the analysis appeared and candida albicans appeared, but I did not improve. Unfortunately, there was no improvement, so I went back to my doctor and asked me to repeat the same first medication with an increased dose. This means six suppositories of miconazole nitrate 400 other used every day once and three capsules of fluconazole 150 mg used every three days once. This did not change anything, so I went to another doctor and asked me to repeat the analysis, so stop hylococcus aureus appeared in the analysis, so cefuroxime axetil gave me two pills daily for five days in addition to a vaginal gel called multi-gyn actigel, but the condition worsened and the pain, itching and space of the pain increased. In addition to the amount of dense secretions, it is green and I no longer know what to do.

This means: six other suppositories miconazole nitrate 400 to be used each day three capsules of fluconazole 150 mg are used every three days once. This did not change anything, so I went to another doctor and he asked me to repeat the analysis, and the analysis showed the presence of stap hylococcus aureus. In addition to the amount of thick green secretions, I no longer know what to do.

U better go for simple sitz bath. It will take care of everything rather than having all medicines.

I’ve had redness on my penis that i’ve had a difficult time getting rid of. Initially, there were roundish red spots; later, after using a steroid, the roundish red spots disappeared, but a general redness remained, and continues still. Interestingly, i’ve noticed that when my penis is flaccid, the redness is hardly (or even not-at-all) noticeable. But invariably when it is erect – whether I have sex or not – it is quite red (ie. Head/glans and approximately two inches of the shaft directly below the head/glans). No problematic symptoms, like itching or pain (although slight burning during intercourse). But I find it very unsightly. The dermatologist who has now seen it twice thinks it is probably eczema, but isn’t sure. He said it could also be caused by fungal, allergic, friction, or other reasons. Here are the treatments i’ve tried: (1) first, I tried alclometasone dipropionate cream 0.05% twice daily for approximately 2 weeks. (2) then, for approximately two weeks, I applied ketoconazole cream 2% once a day (in the mornings), while simultaneously applying eucrisa (crisaborole) ointment 2% in the evenings. (3) then I tried orally taking claritin 10 mg for six days to see if it might be connected to allergies, even though I have no known allergies. (4) the last thing i’ve tried was applying protopic ointment 0.03% twice daily for approximately two weeks. While some of the above helped a bit, none of these got rid of the redness, which has remained the whole time since this redness first appeared (approximately four months ago). I’m thinking that the steroid probably worked best, but I do have some concern about using steroids on my penis skin, as i’ve heard it can problematically thin out that skin, but i’m willing to take some risk with this. I have tubes of what I believe to be two different steroids that I haven’t used yet for this problem: triamcinolone acetonide cream 0.1%, and clotrimazole and betamethasone dipropionate cream 1%/0.05% (base). Should I try either of them on my penis (or maybe even try over-the-counter hydrocortisone 1%, although this may be too weak to do much?) any other suggestions? I realize diagnosing something like this without actually seeing it limits the helpfulness of your opinions, but it would still be very helpful to hear what opinions/guesses experienced professionals have about what this redness on my penis is, and most importantly, what I might do to get rid of it. I am 23. I chewed gutkha and tobacco for five years but not consistently. I developed oral submucous fibrosis. Their are many whitish fibrous bands in my mouth and soft palate. My mouth opening is good and I already met ENT doctor many times and he said nothing to worry about. But the biggest problem is that I develop consistent mouth ulcers even I didn't chew gutkha right now. Doctor told me Whatever damage is done to my mouth will remain permanent but you should quit tobacco and I did the same thing as doctor said. But I'm getting mouth ulcers consistently and Whenever I eat anything it hurts my mouth due to trauma. My ENT specialist gave me Lycopene Tablets and Tess Buccal paste. I am currently using only Buccal paste but Still I keep getting mouth ulcers. This is my problem since one year. My mouth opening is good but most part of my inner mouth is damaged. I don't even posses the courage to watch my mouth in mirror. Although my ENT doctor said nothing to worry about and I'm just 23 but I've heard that oral submucous fibrosis has a risk of developing into cancer even after quitting tobacco. I'll be glad if you tell me the chances of getting cancer as I already stopped taking gutkha and tobacco products and How long it will take my mouth to heal completely since mouth ulcer is my problem since more than a year. Stop worrying it will give u ulcer start SM fibro twice daily for 3months metrohex gel four times a day in u r mouth for 2months and clohex plus mouthwash 10ml twice daily for 2months stop hot and spicy food

I had a lot of unprotected gay oral sex and one time anal sex. I had all symptoms of hiv. I did hiv, hbsag, hcv, tpha at 6 weeks. I did hivduo, hcv, hbsag, hsv1 and 2, chlamydia, tpha, at 127th day all came negative. Now in 18th month of last exposure. Now I have some health issues. White coating tongue still 10 months I am having. Body burning, 1st december I had a 3 lump in anal area. My doctor examine and he tells look like piles. 1.tess gel 2.smuth cream 3.bandy plus 4.varisil 5.pa 650 6.dulcolax. Lump size reduced but now have rice shape lump it look like anal warts I am so much confused. 1.i searched in internet anal warts become anal cancer. I have hpv ah doctor. 2.any hpv test available in tamilnad. 3.if I have hpv can I get marriage because coming feb 1st I am going to marry. 4. My wife will get hpv through me. 5.if I marry means can I get child and child will get hpv. 6.can I take hpv vaccine my age 32. 7. If I get marry vaccine can prevent hpv strains and my wife too. 8. My wife will get hpv vaccine. Please reply my question doctors please help me please.

Hiv tpha hcv hbsag test at 6 weeks and on 127th day hiv duo, hsv, hcv, hbsag,vdrl, chlamydia,tpha all are came back negative. Now I am in 18 month of last exposure. Still I have some symptoms like white coating tongue burning body. 2 weeks before some health problems. Lump in anal region. My doctor examined me and gave some medication. 1.tess 5g gel for tongue. 2. Smuth cream. 3.varisil.4.pa 650. 5.dulcolax tab these. After this, I had some small lump in around anus it look like one peace of rice. I searched in internet it is anal warts I am so tensed because it will become cancer. 1.anal warts will become cancer 2. If I have hpv virus can I marry because in feb 2021 I going to marry. 3. If I marry my wife will get hpv 4. If I marry means can we get child without hpv 5. Hpv test is available in tamilnad and its cost. Please reply me doctors please. Help me please.
