I am 56 old. Diabetic and hypertensive. Since 2 yrs. I am on teneligliptin +metformin 20/500, and telmikind H. FBS is 150 and PPBS is 170. I need to take another hypoglycemic? Kindly answer. I got severe joint pains when put on sulfonylurea.

It is better you get a test called as Hba1c done. It will give an idea of the average sugar level in your body over past 3 months. It will help to decide whether you need a dose increment/change of medicines.

Sir, how can a diabetic patient know his pancreas is functioning and releasing some insulin. What might be reason for glucose level not coming down despite medication like metformin, glimepiride, voglibose and teneligliptin kindly enlighten. Kindly refer the question to an endocrinologist please.

Get your c-peptide test done after 8 hour fasting. C-peptode is a amino acid complex released when a molecule of proinsilin breaks down to insulin hence it is an indirect measurement of insilin. Normalrange is 0.5-2 ng/ml of blood. If your c-peptide is less than normal means insulin is less and indicates type 1 diabetes, if more than more insulin is produced as in type 2 diabetes.

Sir I am surfing in high sugar 150 to 220 pls guide me I use medicine metformin 500 mg in morning and evening before food, afternoon teneligliptin 20 mg after exercise in few days control my sugar laval 110 to 180 pls guide my medicine time.

Control your diet strictly.
Exercise regularly.
Give some time for effect of medicines.
If not controlled increse medicines in consultation with your physician.

My father is having diabetes mellitus since 10 years. He was having 484 mg/dl pp and 308 mg/dl fasting values. So he was advised to take insulin 12 units metformin 1gm glimepiride 2 mg and teneligliptin 20 mg. Now his values have reduced to 127 mg/dl pp and 124 fasting. Should he continue the above medication? Please help.

yes very much you will have to continue medication
check blood sugars frequently.
fasting should be around 100.
blood investigations should also at regular basis to avoid complication.

I am type 2 diabetic. I am aged 25 yrs. I have consulted many doctors but most of all are suggesting either Istamet 50/500 mg or Janumet 50/500 mg or highly priced tablets. The cost is too high for these two tablets. There are other indian variant called Zita met which has Metformin (500 mg, Teneligliptin (20 mg) from Gelnmark. Teneligliptin is next generation of sitagliptin which was patented by mersk. Can I use this tablet instead of janumet and istamet?

In pt of pcod there is increased insulin resistance ,metformin being a insulin sensitizer drug decreases the insulin resistance, it also helps in reducing wt and in ovulation. Total dose is 1500 mg taken in 2 or 3 divided doses.
Lifestyle changes for wt reduction should also be adopted.

Respected madam as you have said teneligliptin can be replaced by another molecule for better efficacy to control fbs could you please suggest? I am on teneligliptin 20 mg repace50 mg novastat 5 mg, methypreg 75 mg. I am a diabetic for eleven years. Hba1c 6.1.kidney and lipid profile alright. Fbs 124 pps 133. My doc has suggested pioz 15 for high fbs which has many safety issues. Please suggest medicine in lieu of teneligliptin 20 mg for controlling my high fbs.

You can go for metformin and tenegliptin combination. Y you r not taking metformin ,me surprised. As there is no contraindications as per your history mentioned here.

My mother 51 years old has been diagnosed with type 2 dm. Her hba1c is 9.7 % fasting glucose was 134 and post prandial was 294. Past few days she has been complaining of online work stress. She used to say 'ghabrahat hoti hai' so we got her tested. She has no other symptoms. She has been prescribed teneligliptin+ metformin and lovastatin for 20 days and after that follow up. Hi
she seems to be underweight. Does she lost weight with in few months or she was like that?
Her treatment needs to be modified for better control of blood sugar.
Also get check her bp and lft, kft, lipid profile, thyroid profile and ecg.
Do some relaxation exercises with her, listen to her and spend some good quality time and try to figure it out? Why she is worrisome ghabrahat?
Avoid egg and non veg
take plenty of natural food like vegetable and salads
take care.
