There could be several reasons of constipation. Vitamins generally have a mild laxative effect so that should not be the reason. I hope your thyroid profile has been done. Whether you should continue metformin or not, depends on your fasting and pp sugar levels. Kindly get your sugar tested and share reports. If reports are normal, you might have to continue, as they are normal cause you are taking metformin. However if they are low, it can be stopped.

If only metformin is taken it should be after food. If sustained release tablet is there then od may ok. If not twice a day is better. Side effects are less if taken after food.
