Hi lybrate-user,
There are two things I suspect could be cause of your severe joint pain. One is rheumatological and another is neurological. Although I think the former is more likely that later. Blood sugar control is monitored with the help of hba1c. Your target hba1c should be less than 7. For that you need to either increase the dose of existing medicines or add another medicine .contact a physician for guidance regarding the same. You also need to further intensify lifestyle modifications like diet and physical activity, if possible.

Dear lybrate-user
1) your present medication will not help.
2) your sugars are high and may need insulin
3) early insulin therapy prevents further complications.

You have been longstanding diabetic, as per your own words not well controlled, this could be a complication of diabetes rather than the medications that you are taking. More detailed information may be required from you before suggesting any medication, but surely your problem is quite commmon in diabetic males as more than 50% of them suffer from msd (male sexual dysfunction), but most of the times this is a manageable condition.
