Thanks for the query.
Usually if BP is well controlled with a single drug, then there is no need for additional drugs. But in your case doctor has already recommended Telmisartan, Chlotiazide and a beta blocker, means there is need for these drugs. Since no readings are mentioned, it is difficult to comment. Thanks.

Check your pulse when you feel lightheaded. This can be done using an electronic blood pressure machine, or simply feeling pulsations on your wrist. If your pulse is 60 or more, you should be alright.

Measure bp only once every month on fixed dates after resting for 10 mins. Bp rises during activity, stress, etc. Sometimes meeting a Dr. increases bp. Specially when meeting new Dr. for first time. Both medicines are bp medicines, both are mild doses, but they are different types.

Blood pressure is a tendency - not a disease. It gives rise to diseases- heart diseases, kidney diseases, stroke - can all happen with high blood pressure. The medicine is to control your bp and please remember that once your tendency of high bp has developed then it will remain for life. Hence to curb this tendency - the medicine is to be taken for life.

lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query.
Madam I have seen the details, which are not complete. You have mentioned only about thyroxine dosage (62.5 mcg), but there is no mention of tsh levels. Because when you on treatment for hypothyroidism, with adequate dose, tsh should be maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l. Plus there is also no mention of your bp readings, so there is no way to comment.
I am unable to understand how some doctor can say that thyroxine and telmisartan are causing the proble...more

Tremors have got nothing to do with it. Though tremors are associated with neurological disorders, they can as well be either physiological or because of some little known causes. Simply a sleep deprivation can give rise to tremors. Alcohol consumption or caffeine overdose can give rise to tremors. Vit B12, B1 deficiency also causes tremors. After ruling out these simple causes if you still persist having tremors then you will have to go in for neurological evaluation.
