1) cresar (Telmisartan) and amlodepin are 2 different drugs. 2) Cresar is a better drug to start with. 3) Cresar H is a combination of two medicines and is more effective in BP lowering. 4) But medication alone do not help unless accompanied with lifestyle changes like daily exercise for 30-35 mins, healthy diet, salt control avoid eating high salty food like chips, namkeens, pickles, papads etc, quit smoking and drinking (if you do) 5) Also I hope your lipid profile and echo has been done, if n...more

Avoid cholesterol medicines unless you have already suffered heart attack.
Other medicines ok, if you wish to reduce pills, discuss about telmisartan and amlodipine combination pill with your Dr, it will control BP with single tablet.

I was diagnosed with dm 2 about two years back. Iam on amaryl-m1 bd & has hba1c of 7. I started feeling extra sensation under the feet, heaviness in foot, leg, thighs from about a month or two, some pain in hip area and finally difficulty in lifting one leg about 2 weeks days back along with knee weakness in one leg although other leg has been affected to a lesser extent till date. I never experienced very sharp pain & 2 weeks back had mild pain in my buttocks for about a week. The loss of movement in the 2 directions direction in the leg & knee weakness was quite quick about 10-12 days back. Now I do not feel any pain but had some falls primarily on account of knee weakness or weakness in right leg. Mri scan, ct scan were ok but problem was reported in nerve conduction test in both legs but mainly in right leg. Was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy or diabetic amyotrophy which correlates with my overall symptoms. Doctor put me on 8 day course of prednisone (40mg-10mg) with insulin. My sugar with amaryl m1 as on now is under control & I take light food with reasonable physical activity & sugar levels now seems to be ok 92 fasting /140 pp. Also started visiting a physiotherapist from today. As of know there is appears to be some improvements in my walking (can walk 15-20 min at a stretch inside home) though weakness in one leg & knee persist. I cannot drive due to difficulty in movement of my right leg when trying to move it sideways while sitting. It is also not possible to lift the right leg against gravity when laying down though backward lifting & movement on sideways when lying on one side are intact. Have been prescribed pregaba m 75 (hs, neurkind+. Have no pain of any type. My questions 1) has peripheral neuropathy reached a plateau ie. Stopped or not 2) is pregabalin needed in my case as I have no pain, i. E. Whether it play a role in nerve regeneration or is overall beneficial in such situation 3) can I expect improvement in my right leg in 1-2 months time with sugar control & exercises.

1. Peripheral neuropathy is a on going process even in normal individuvals as age advances due to deficiency of vitamins mainly b12
2. In your case pregabalin is needed for some time 3. Nerve regeneration is impossible for anyone 4. Definitely you can expect improvement in the right leg in 1-2 months with good control of sugar & exercises.

lybrate-user ji, thanks for the query.
Madam I have seen the details, which are not complete. You have mentioned only about thyroxine dosage (62.5 mcg), but there is no mention of tsh levels. Because when you on treatment for hypothyroidism, with adequate dose, tsh should be maintained around 3 to 4 mu/l. Plus there is also no mention of your bp readings, so there is no way to comment.
I am unable to understand how some doctor can say that thyroxine and telmisartan are causing the proble...more

At first I told, you, tsh hormone is that hormone which stimulate thyroid to secretion of t3 & t4 hormones. Now t3 & t4 hormone are protein in which iodine is combined .in t3 iodine is 3 & in t4 iodine is 4, presence of t4 is more than t3, t4 converted in t3 later. But you have no problem of thyroidthyroid ,next the tab which is prescribe by your Dr. Nm-5 mgmg which is nitrozepam combination which is work as a sedative & anti anxiety, I don't know you suffering from this type of problem or not, ...more

Rosuvastatin is a medicine for dyslipidemia or in simple words a medicine for cholesterol related problems and not for increased blood pressure.
Amtas m contains amlodipine and metoprolol which now has been changed to sartel am- which is amlodipine and telmisartan. There is a need for detailed evaluation of the cause of your recent increase in blood pressure. You need to be tested for kidney problems, renal arterial doppler, kidney function tests, thyroid profile.
If after a detailed eva...more

Some Drs switch to eritel H alternate days and telmisartan with amlodipine combination alternate days. Single daily dose. This treatment takes one month to have effect and does not lower sodium potassium.

My mother (58 years) is suffering with thyroid and hypertension problems from last seven years. Recently 15 days back she was fainted and became unconscious for 10 minutes. She has the following symptoms 1 Sudden Palpitations in heart upto 170 beats per minute 2 Feeling weak 3 Tremors in hands 4 headache 5 High blood pressure 170/100 6 Breathlessness Previously she was treated by Senior General physician in Manipal Hospital from last seven years. Since her problems are recurring in a short time I have consulted a endocrinologist and admitted her in his hospital to find the root cause since there was no endocrinologist in Manipal Vijayawada. She is under his diagnosis from last four days in the hospital and sir expressed the causes may be Artilary Infillatraion or pheochromocytoma. He forwarded the 24 hours urine collection for analysis. Now the problem is she is suffering with high BP and high heart beat once in the morning everyday for an hour which she could not able to tolerate and when she takes tablets the BP and heartbeat raises further and more she is suffering. after that she becomes normal for remaining time in the day. She took medical 25 (metoprolol) for two days and today she takes Tellzy AM 40 mg (Telmisartan & Amlodipine) but there is difference and she suffered a lot for one hour. The doctor sir is saying that he will start the treatment after the examination only till that time he asked to continue the old treatment which is 1 Early morning Thyroxine 50 mg 1 tablet. 2 After breakfast Tellzy AM 40 mg 3 After Lunch Remetor CV 10 (Atorvastatin 10 mg and Clopidogrel 75 mg) What can I do now since we are not able to see her while suffering a lot for an hour a day regularly? My mother could use stalopam 10 mg tablets?

Some alteration of medicine is needed. If 24 hours urine sample is completed, discuss with your Dr. a long acting beta blocker tablet to be taken 2-8 hours (late night or very early morning) before the time of fast heart beating symptoms. Best wishes.
