Metoprolol will only treat the autonomic (i.e. Heart rate and BP symptoms) of anxiety not the cognitive symptoms (those related with mind like anxious mood, feeling apprehensive, fear, etc) they are treated by medications by psychiatrists, which may even make your metoprolol dose less or not required at all, so kindly consult a psychiatrist as anxiety disorder is a primary psychiatric disorder. 4. Diet - no ghee/ butter, have mix of vegetable oils - mustard, til, ground nut, olive oil, have more green vegetables and fruits, have whole grain atta, no fried. Fast. Spicy / processed/ junk food. No sugar, potato, rice
5. 30 mts brisk walk daily 6. Deep breathing exercise for 10 mts daily
7. Meditation daily for 10 mts. 6-8 hrs of sleep at night

Hi curiosity is fine, but if you try googling each and every medication you will find something which your mind wants to find. What is best for you your doctors know better than you as the beta blockers which you have mentioned you have just googled them and have no idea regarding their efficacy potency or mortality benefit. You should know that not any beta blocker can be started as there is scientific evidence behind which one to start in a particular patient and this information sadly your go...more

Dear , from cad I assume you are referring to coronary artery disease or ischemic heart disease. You must be on asprin or clopidogrel and cholesterol reducing agent. How was the condition diagnosed whether it was through a treadmill stress test or has an angiography performed. If he is a patient of CAD n is having chest pain (Can be angina), take him to hospital asap. But if this pain is of gastric origin then do the following-
1. Lose weight (if you r obese). Obesity is the leading cause of GERD/ Acidity. Don't Overeat
