Tegrital plain you can take but you have to take two times at half the dose you r taking currently. Cr is a long acting medicine where as plain tegrital is a short acting one. Better you consult your regular gp before changing the medicine as it may lead to fluctuations in levels in blood.

These medicines are for diabetes and hypertension (high b p ). Usually these medicines do not affects kidney. But you should not stop these medicines because it causes increase sugar and b p. U go to hospital and go for routine blood tests.
