My father was around 80 years old with history of diabetes, kidney disease, smoker, prostrate issues and his blood pressure was 90/44 when we took him to shifa international hospital, h-8, islamabad, pakistan for treatment. At that time his chest was not properly working as his oxygen saturation was 80%. Instead of taking option of dialysis due to kidney issues, doctors tried to do his echo due to reason best known to them. As he was not cardia patient. He could not lay on the bed therefore doctor gave him serenace injection @2.5 mg. It is pertinent to mention that he was not taking medicine for blood pressure and he was not a patient of blood pressure. As doctors injected serenace injection @2.5 mg, he had cardiac arrest and may be died at the spot around 3: 00 pm on 24th june 2019. They in order to save them, they gave him cpr treatment for around 10 minutes and then he again had breath. He was put on ventilator in order to grab more money and he did not respond for 10 hours till 12: 40 am on 25th june 2019 and then they declared him dead. I want to know about effects of serenace during this treatment. My questions are as followed: is serenace is recommended for patients who have kidney issues, diabetic, prostrate issues and smoker for long time? Was it permissible to inject serenace in order to do echo which was actually not required? Was it necessary to inject serenace @ 2.5 which was high dose? Can they inject serenace without consulting anesthesia doctor? Is assistant consultant can take this decision without consulting consultants dealing with heart and kidney issues? They have killed our patient, what are international standards to deal with such doctors as shifa international hospital claims that they are giving international level take care to their patients? Do you allow your doctors to do same procedure for patients at your hospital?

There is no permanent cure, like diabetes you have to give medications for lifetime. It will control the symptoms to certain extent depending on various factors. Get yourself educated about the severe mental illness, schizophrenia. The recovery depends on the type of illness, symptoms and most importantly regularity of medications since onset of the disorder. More irregular the treatment, more will be negative symptoms, resistant symptoms and deficits. You need to regularly attend a psychiatrist...more

You should do both. If you are averse to taking medication, you can try therapy first and then if the therapy requires support via medication, then you can do both at that time too. I don’t know if you are fully aware: you have mentioned that you are suffering from anxiety, which in itself can disturb your sleep. Instead of worrying too much about causes, why don’t you implement some of my suggestions, because they work effectively. The lack of sleep, i.e. Sleep for less than 6 hours per night, ...more

Lybrate user,
it's not a good practice to stop the medications abruptly, without your psychiatrist's advice. Your symptoms may be reappearing in a few weeks. The medicines you are on are supposed to be taken for a long time and if your doctor thinks to stop them, the dosages will be tapered systematically. Better consult your psychiatrist.

How to Stop Overthinking?

Bring yourself to the present moment: In other words, each time we are overthinking we cannot be in the present moment. The reality, however, is that the present moment is usually far better than the past or future we are overthinking about.
Replace Your thoughts: Yep, you can’t control the thoughts that pass through your mind but you can replace those negative thinking with positive ones.
Make a small shift in focus: How many times have you stopped work...more

Hello-
yes ed is due to your meds. Common side effects of anti psychotic meds in men include decreased libido and difficulty getting an erection. Some men have trouble maintaining an erection. Men taking antidepressants also report delayed or blocked orgasm.
Fortunately, it can be cured by ayurveda.
