It is better you get a test called as Hba1c done. It will give an idea of the average sugar level in your body over past 3 months. It will help to decide whether you need a dose increment/change of medicines.

Get your c-peptide test done after 8 hour fasting. C-peptode is a amino acid complex released when a molecule of proinsilin breaks down to insulin hence it is an indirect measurement of insilin. Normalrange is 0.5-2 ng/ml of blood. If your c-peptide is less than normal means insulin is less and indicates type 1 diabetes, if more than more insulin is produced as in type 2 diabetes.

Hi Syed... it depends on your Blood sugar levels... the doctor who suggested you should have written the timing also about when to take or not... So it is better to ask him if it is not clear...
Still if you want it should be taken 15 minutes before breakfast or lunch...
