High does folic acid of 5 mg is prescribed only in selected cases. Otherwise in completely normal pregnancy with normal obstetric history, 500 microgram of folic acid is enough and that also is mainly required in first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Actually looking at your age Dr. has prescribed you pregnancy support pills, there is nothing wrong even if you take them till you complete 12 wks, alternatively you may discontinue if you may wish to post your Ultrasound and other routine antinatal tests if all reports are normal.

Apcod is good but there are other medicines too which can be very helpful. Some dietary additions should be made like flax seeds. Regular exercises and some blood tests are mandatory. A few tests of your husband are also required. You can contact me for detailed discussion.
