Since birth I am suffering from cerebral palsy, spastic type but for last few years, I am experienced more stiffness and pain in lower back pain mainly hip joint area, ankle, knee also feeling muscular weakness n fatigue in arms and legs resulting walking slower pace and unable to walk much. I am getting temporary relief when take physiotherapy session thrice a week muscle relaxant and syndopa plus. My latest brain mri shows. Periventricular leukomalacia (pvl) I am wanted to know is my problem aggravated because of starting of parkinson’s disease? And am I taking the right treatment or needs to change the course of treatment? Pls advice?

My father 73 years old has just been detected with parkinson's last month. He felt like he was standing on a ball all the time that's when we decided to take him to a neurologist. He prescribed syndopa half a tab 3 times a day to start with. My father showed signs of improvement so the neurologist increased the dose to 3 tabs a day. Since the increased dosage my father's condition has become worse, he can't even stand properly and falls down as soon as he tries to get up. He has not been eating and has not passed stool for 5 days instead he vomits. We got his blood tests done and his hemoglobin came 7 and according to doc that why the medication is not working. His ferritin has come 1000 in the report. Please help and advice.

Hello,
I suggest as the syndopa is causing worsening of the symptoms it is better to stop the medicine and and improve his anemia. If he has parkinsons disease syndopa willl definitely show some improvement and is not related to anemia. I suggest that you get his anemia treated and consult neurologist or mention his complete history to confirm parkinsons disease.

Hi. This query is about my father. He is a parkinson patient for nearly 9 years. He has been on medications since then with syndopa plus, rasalect, pacitane as advised by doctors. Doses adjusted according to severity all these days. Condition worse from single hand shaking to bend posture and difficulty in walking. He gets tired if walks couple of minutes, complains of back pain. From last 1 week, he has lost sleepiness, talking useless and without sense. Along with my dad, we are unable to sleep since he is roaming in the room and injuring himself. Sleep pill didn't work. This has happened twice.

at times parkinsons patients develop dementia and mental issues, its a very difficult situation and prescribing medicines on query may be difficult, perhaps a visit to nimhans will be fruitful for you so as to have a complete approach.

My father age 67 is undergoing treatment after suffering stroke he has also benign prostate hyperlexia he is taking these medicines :- 1.) rabsig 20 2.) met xl 25 3.) syndopa 110 4.) tazloc am 5.) atocor 20 6.) ecosprin 75 7.) geripod d 8.) happens syrup so my question is can my father take corona vaccine? Is it safe considering he is taking all these medicines specially I heard you can't take vaccine if you are taking blood thinner like ecosprin 75? So is it safe taking vaccine with ecosprin 75? please answer?

I am a girl. My age is 25. I feel numbness or I can say tingling sensation in my arms and legs. I'm facing this problem since two years but not always. I have sinus and low blood pressure issues too. I feel like to hit my arms and legs to wall when I feel that numbness. Also it urges me to go to pee. When I exercise excessively than I feel some sort of relief. But sometimes that also doesn't work. My maternal grandma was facing the same problem since childhood, later on she was diagnosed with nervous disease. She takes medicine naming syndopa, only then she is able to move her left hand and left leg. please tell me whether I should go to a nearby neurologist or not during this pandemic. Is this a serious issue. please explain why is it happening to me. I am unable to sleep today. Usually all this happens at night.

Hello,
one thing I can straight away tell you is that you are not having the disease your grandmother is having, she is having parkinsons disease and being give syndopa for same. Your symptoms have nothing to do with parkinsons disease.
I do not think that you need to go to neurologist at the moment, for the tingling and numbness you can take iron and vit b complex tablet and wait and see. It does not appear to be any serious neurologic disease, relax.

Hello Doctor, My father aged 80 years old, had a mild stroke a year ago, fell today morning in floor. That hurt in forehead and around eye. Some blood went away from the forehead injury. The area is swollen a bit. And around the eye, a black mark is created as the blood clots around the eye. As my father taking aciloc-rd, donep-5, ecosprin-av (75/20) and syndopa-110 since last couple of months. But after the injury, our local doctor prescribed amoxyclav-625, chymotas-40 along with tet-vac. But I have some confusion, are this medicine safe to take with existing neuro medicine. I have asked to our local doctor and he responded it is safe. But I need second opinion before giving the medicine to my father. Please do not mind, it might possible, doctor was absent minded at the time of response. I always double check those decision. Please reply.

As you mentioned your father is taking ecosprin, it is highly recommended to get his imaging by ct scan or mri.
The medicines are safe but you need to check whether they are required or not.
Antibiotics are only required if there is obvious cut or open wound is present. I recommend for clinical examination of the patient.

My father (78) underwent bypass surgery in 2001 and In 2009 he had Parkinson's Now his condition is going down Mornings he has not strength in his legs to get up ,he can't do toilet by himself and we use adult diapers. Is there any way I can improve his condition so he can at least walk what he used to 6 Months early at carters He's takes syndopa daily thrice medicine for parkinson. We just took him to holy family hospital and doctor said his heart is fine .Just told to give him a2z vitamin tablet. Seeing him helpless I feel miserable.

I can understand your worry
with bypass and Parkinson's we need to see whether his brain is normal or not. So go for a MRI scan of Brain. Also, we need to see his memory and what are his thoughts, a history of how he has been since 2001. I think this would come up to diagnosis and then management of his condition.

Now he is taking syndopa plus 6 tabs, trivastal la 1 tab, amantrel 1 tab, neurofit 1200 2 tab, telma 20 2 tab, duphalac 15 ml, donep 5 mg 1 tab, clonazepam 1 mg in daily basis. Please advise for medication for improving speech & mobility.

Your father seems to be in quite advanced stage of the disease. In this stage neuro-rehabilitation is very much warranted. If he has any mood issues, those need to be addressed. Kindly consult a good neuro-rehabilitation physician. At i-nk we have a good neuro-rehabilitation department.

Dear doctor, now a day my mom is suffering from throat problem, she is not feeding properly she is taking long time to feeding the food, and also she's taking long time for drinking the water. She is one the bed from back 4 year due to parkinson's and also she is taking parkinson pill like syndopa plus, resegeline 0.5 mg and apart of this she is also the patient of osteoarthritis due to which she can't walk please suggest some suggestion or medicine for her throat problem or is there any good doctor here to whom I can consult for her problem because she is bed ridden so she can't move in the clinic. I have bppv, when I goto hospital doctors give me prochlorperazine. I used that medication for 2 days, after 2 days I feel abnormal movements on my face, and chewing, and abnormal movements in neck. I can not control those movements, and also I feel strange fear, so I channel neurologist he says stop get prochlorperazine. And he gave me syndopa and attain then that abnormal movements goes away, its 4 days now I stop get prochlorperazine. But still I feel some fear at some times. I want to how much time it want to pass out these side effect of prochlorperazine.
