Parotid infections are mostly viral so no role of antibiotics as such. Only paracetamol 100 mg 3 times daily will help.

Antibiotics should not be used in every case, the abuse of antibiotics has resulted in their resistance. Most of the cases are due to viral in origin and thus don't require the antibiotics. And as far as the dose is concerned, it's based on the weight of the child which is missing in the query.

I do not prescribe antibiotics unless absolutely necessary.
CRP is very non specific and is evidence of infection or inflammation.
But one should interpret CRP only against clinical background.

Hello,
thanks for your query on Lybrate
"as" per your clinical history is concerned do take this medication as suggested by your doctor and there is no harm at all for her age. Do take it twice a day for 7 days. Add probiotics (vizylac caps) twice a day, do warm saline gargle every 3 hours for throat discomfort.
Hope that helps and wish you a good health.
