Dear Lybrate user, night coughs (mimicking asthma attacks) are sometimes caused by reflux disease (gerd), since you got relief, hence your doctor was absolutely right.
Now you are not getting relief, so you need to get a cbc esr blood test and a chest x ray to confirm the diagnosis.
Oxygen saturation (spo2) tells about oxygen saturation in blood, it can be near normal in early stages of lung diseases.

U have to improve your food habits do
1. Take 2/ 3glass of warm water in the morning before brush 2. Take more water in day
3. Take meals at fixed hrs, chew food properly/ completely, no eating quickly 4. Take small amount of food at a time, take more frequent meals - may be five times a day.
5. No spicy/ fried/ fast/ junk/processed food. Caffeine, 6. No smoking, chewing gum, and carbonated beverages.
6. No milk for few days, can take curd, no uncooked salad

Fresh blood is an indication for anal or rectum pathology and black coloured stools is an indication for an upper GI bleed and which needs to be evaluated and for your present symptoms I will suggest you to meet a gastroenterologist and get a upper GI scopy done and Apart from taking symptomatic treatment Avoid spicy food items and not to eat junk food and we also need to avoid peanuts and potatoes in our daily diet.
