Continue with it and watch your BP closely. At your age high BP needs some definite tests to rule out any cause of high BP, hope these tests have been done.

Hypertension as a disease need to be evaluated in detail. You must consult a cardiologist to find out are there any correctable causes of hypertension like sleep apnoea, hypothyroidism, renal artery stenosis and so on.
Then we need to find out are there any complications of hypertension already present or not. This will require kidney function tests, fundus examination, ecg, 2d echo.
Then based on above tests your medicines need to be revised.

Thank you for the query. Prior to starting your medication (stamlo 2.5 mg) your bp was 150/90 mm of hg. The present control of bp is probably due to your medication. If you stop it there may be a sudden shoot up. It is important to reduce your oral salt intake. Please consult your physician before taking any decision to stop the drug. Even if the medicine is stopped, your bp must be monitored to look for any rise.

Medicine quite strong. Full effect in 30 days. Measure bp only once every week after resting for 10 minutes. Below 140 is good.
