Nexito (escitalopram) is fine, though try cipralex which is the best form of escitalopram and stop petril. Consult psychiatrist. All the best.

Dear Abhrajit,
Since you are on the lowest dose of 5 mg Escitalopram, you need not taper. You can stop without tapering. But, 3 months may be too early to stop in case of major depressive disorder. i don't know the diagnosis for which stalopam mini was prescribed.

Hi, thanks for writing in. Welcome to the forum. No, cipralex taken by father will not influence offspring. Depending upon the dose and individual characteristics, sexual performance may be positively or negatively influenced. Ejaculation time may increase, libido might decrease or increase and erection may or may not be affected. Regardless, offspring will not be affected. Take care!

No, Stalopam should not be stopped. Instead you can use a Multivitamin tablet or syrup and emeset for the nausea. Sudden stoppage is Stalopam is not recommended. If you found my answer helpful, please leave a like/ thanks. Thank you.

The adjustment phase when starting a new medication can vary from person to person. Generally, side effects like drowsiness and changes in mood may occur in the initial weeks as your body adapts to the medication. For most people, these side effects tend to lessen over time.

Many things can affect the dose of a medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.

Yes antidepressants always have some side effects, it can become addiction also, soo I will advise you to go for homoepathic treatment along with your treatment, soo that your medicine can be reduced gradually and by time it can be avoided.

However if third episode occurs then treatment continues for many years and that depends on many factors like - past history, family history, severity, treatment response, current living situations, family support etc. I recommend you to discuss about your concern with a experienced psychiatrist nearby or online so that thorough evaluation is done and accordingly r...more

Dear lybrate-user,
Sometimes shifting to another antidepressant (from Cipralex to zoloft) works better. Your doctor felt that you may improve further with another antidepressant. Follow her/his instructions and report the result.
