Dear Abhrajit,
Since you are on the lowest dose of 5 mg Escitalopram, you need not taper. You can stop without tapering. But, 3 months may be too early to stop in case of major depressive disorder. i don't know the diagnosis for which stalopam mini was prescribed.

Hello, since you are on treatment for anxiety, escitalopram is one of the best medicine to help you overcome your symptoms. Though it may cause decreased sex drive or/and libido as a side effect, you don't have to worry because it is reversible on stopping or changing the medicine. You should discuss it with your doctor who will definitely change or moderate the medicine depending on the treatment response.

For management of depression, the first choice of medicine is the group ssri that includes nexito. So I advise nexito as the better option.

No, Stalopam should not be stopped. Instead you can use a Multivitamin tablet or syrup and emeset for the nausea. Sudden stoppage is Stalopam is not recommended. If you found my answer helpful, please leave a like/ thanks. Thank you.

Nexito (escitalopram) is less likely to cause weight gain. Even if it does, it won't be more than 2-3 kgs over 5-6 months. But this weight gain can be easily prevented by proper lifestyle changes. Exercise regularly, atleast walk for 30 min daily. Eat high fibre and low fat food. Eat salads. This will control your weight. You have to understand that controlling your ocd is far more important to maintain your occupational functioning as compared to the weight gain. I know airlines are strict with...more

The adjustment phase when starting a new medication can vary from person to person. Generally, side effects like drowsiness and changes in mood may occur in the initial weeks as your body adapts to the medication. For most people, these side effects tend to lessen over time.
In the case of stalopam (escitalopram), which is an ssri (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) commonly prescribed for anxiety and panic disorders, side effects often improve within the first few weeks. However, every...more

All antidepressants cause hyoontremia, but may not be for all people. next plus contains escitalopram which is prone for hyponatrmia. It has to be managed by water restriction and if needed loop diuretics by doctor. If antidepressants can be changes there are low to medium rick ones for hyponatremia

Your medicines are not making you gain weight but your mood is. As one feels good and improved after medicine they tend to eat more but neglect physical activities. Increase your exercise time.

It's good that you're thinking carefully about how to manage your medication, particularly when it comes to tapering off drugs like nexito plus (which usually contains escitalopram, an antidepressant, and clonazepam, a benzodiazepine). Here are some general principles for safely discontinuing medications like these:
gradual reduction: tapering off medication, particularly antidepressants and benzodiazepines, should generally be done gradually. This helps to minimize withdrawal symptoms. The ...more
